    The Snug DUKE OF MARLBOROUGH*Smaller portion sizes, but just as yummy* - we offer a Seniors’ Set Menu every Friday from 12pm to 2:30pm, featuring 2 courses - including options such as beer-battered fish, gammon, sausage & mash, soup and desserts such as apple crumble and jam sponge.
    The Duke of Marlborough is a 15th century community-owned village pub near Ipswich, in the pretty village of Somersham. Managed by husband and wife, Claire and Matt, who invite you to enjoy their warm welcome and the friendly atmosphere created by the wonderful team of staff and volunteers!

    The Duke’s kitchen produces great value, hearty meals featuring many British pub classics, and a wide range of drinks – in a building that has been welcoming people for nearly 500 years!

  • Family Service - St. Mary’s Somersham

    ST MARYS SOMERSHAM AUTUMN 2025 1968Eighth Sunday after Trinity - we welcome all, and we welcome families and children of all ages to share this Service with us - you are invited to join our Sunday morning Family Service - a specially created all-age family service. We look forward to seeing you as we gather at our friendly church.
    There’s plenty of parking space at the Village Hall, thank you.

  • Duke Acoustic Night, hosted by Jess Simmons - Suffolk-based singer-songwriter

    Acoustic Night at the Duke of Marlborough Welcome to our July acoustic night!! Bring your favourite instrument and join in. Performed in and around the table, buskers format. All musicians and singers welcome. Very many talented people turn up, and enjoy a lovely atmosphere, like buskers’ evenings of old. 
    Lovely to see so many happy people enjoying themselves and the ambience of our lovely, dear community-owned pub!
    There’s a warm welcome waiting for accordions, banjos, double basses, fiddles, guitars, harmonicas, percussion, ukuleles, and a plethora of other instruments - not to mention plenty of a cappella and other singing. Everyone, from beginners to experienced musicians and singers, is welcome! ……it’s amazing to think that there’s probably been music and singing in our village pub for over 500 years!
