WHEELIE FUN DAY is a large traditional village fête held on Somersham playing field in Suffolk, we welcome young, old and families - activities and attractions include: Live music + entertainment on our stage all day, classic + cherished vehicle show and all sorts of wheel-power…..cycle speedway, bicycles and motorcycles, skateboarding.… plus Suffolk Punch horses, birds of prey, a marketplace of local + trade stalls, plus choices for hot + cold food, three bars, fête games, children’s and family entertainment and a Grand Raffle.

Lots of vehicles have now registered for the CAR SHOW at Somersham Wheelie Fun Day (SWFD) - so we’re all looking forward to great day on Saturday 4th July!

Starting from the week beginning 1st June 2026, households will have more opportunities to recycle as part of nationwide changes to waste collections. Further details on the NEWS & INFORMATION menu tab above.
These changes include:
:: a new weekly food waste collection service - allowing residents to dispose of unusable and expired food items
:: extra items will be accepted in the recycling collection - including glass, cartons, and plastic bags, wrappings and films
:: a separate collection for paper and card
:: a new three-weekly collection schedule

The Tournament dart games started at 1pm on Saturday 27th June, and finished circa 8pm. The Duke of Marlborough opened at midday.

The two losing semi-finalists were Josh Wilden of The Limeburners team and Nathan Fillbrook of the Dukes of Hazzard team (Duke of Marlborough). The Runner-Up, Karl Mortimer is an independent player…..and the Winner, Matt Whitton is a member of The Afterburners, a new team based at The Limeburners pub in Offton.
:: Matt “Champion” Whitton also won the highest checkout trophy for getting a 115-out, congratulations! When interviewed Matt said, “My son Freddie (also of The Afterburners team) being in India meant that this was my big chance, phew!!!”

Competing darts players for next year - remember to book your slot for the 2027 Tournament!!
The Elmsett & District Darts League doesn’t really take a long break. We finished the Winter League at end of April and then started the Summer League in May. And it goes round and round!
Over the years, this fabulous darts tournament has raised thousands of pounds for S&DCA WHEELIE FUN DAY (held on Saturday 4th July 2026) - featuring live music, cherished-vehicle show, market stalls, food, swing grill, drink, bars, cycle speedway, skateboarding, Suffolk Punch horses, birds of prey, and family entertainment.

Each month, every 3rd Wednesday is Prize Bingo Night in Somersham - and all ages are welcome!
The next Village Hall Bingo Night is on Wednesday 15th July.
It costs £1:00 per book - and this includes free refreshments.
Remaining proceeds go towards Village Hall fundraising.
There’s plenty of parking space at the Village Hall - which is accessible - and it’s nice and warm inside, we look forward to seeing you!
