Road Closures

Suffolk Highways are planning to carry out improvement works in your area.
What will we be doing?	Carriageway repairs prior to surface dressing works
Where will we be doing it?	U4415 Flowton Road, Somersham - Part of from Church Lane, Somersham to Blood Hill, Somersham
What are the times and dates of the works?	Monday 7 September to Wednesday 9 September, from 9:15am to 3pm
What traffic management will be in place?	While we are working, a road closure will be in place for the safety of highway users and our operatives
What is the diversion route?	Blood Hill, Elmsett Road, Somersham, Elmsett Road, Ipswich Road, Offton, Main Road, Nettlestead, Main Road, Church Lane, Somersham and vice versa

 

What do I need to do in advance?

To ensure these works commence and progress smoothly, please do not park your vehicle on the road shortly before they are scheduled to begin, as well as throughout their duration.

“No parking” cones will be placed on the road in advance to indicate where we will be working.

What do I need to know about the temporary road closure?

Road closures are sometimes essential for the safety of road users and our operatives. If you are based within the closure, we will maintain access where possible. However, there may be times when access is delayed or restricted. Please plan your journeys accordingly and speak to operatives on-site if you require further information.

Works were not carried out as advised. What is happening?

Sometimes we are unable to complete works as planned. This could be due to vehicles parked on the road, or because of a variety of other reasons often beyond our control.

If we need to make major changes to our works dates, we will update the information signs on site. You will also receive another letter advising of the new date in advance.
