Welcome to our April acoustic nights!! Bring your favourite instrument and join in. Performed in and around the table, buskers format. All musicians and singers welcome. Very many talented people turn up, and enjoy a lovely atmosphere, like buskers’ evenings of old.
Lovely to see so many happy people enjoying themselves and the ambience of our lovely, dear community-owned pub!
There’s a warm welcome waiting for accordions, banjos, double basses, fiddles, guitars, harmonicas, percussion, ukuleles, and a plethora of other instruments - not to mention plenty of a cappella and other singing. Everyone, from beginners to experienced musicians and singers, is welcome! ……it’s amazing to think that there’s probably been music and singing in our village pub for over 500 years!

There are lots of traditions and superstitions associated with May Day – from waking up before dawn and going outside to wash your face in the dew, to gathering flowers and creating garlands for friends to wear. This tradition was known as ‘Bringing in the May’ and often, people would give their garlands or ‘May Baskets’ of flowers to someone who needed cheering up.
This year, May Day Bank Holiday will be celebrated with events and activities in Somersham - be on the look-out for news and updates!
Details will be in The Link Newsletter, on the Duke of Marlborough website and Facebook, and here.
Dancing and music, flowers and foliage are central to May Day celebrations!
Thank you!
