Each month, every 3rd Wednesday is Prize Bingo Night in Somersham - and all ages are welcome!
The next Village Hall Bingo Night is on Wednesday 18th November.
It costs £1:00 per book - and this includes free refreshments.
Remaining proceeds go towards Village Hall fundraising.
There’s plenty of parking space at the Village Hall - which is accessible - and it’s nice and warm inside, we look forward to seeing you!

A social art event where participants paint a canvas with step-by-step guidance from a local artist while enjoying a drink - Friday 20th November 2026

There will be a bar and soft refreshments available. This event is raising funds for FOSS, the Friends of Somersham School.
FOSS is the PTA for Somersham Primary School, we raise funds to support our small village school. Including subsidised school trips, purchasing equipment, buying books, or enabling inspiring visitors for the school.
Our events include our fantastic summer fete, family quiz nights, Christmas activities, school discos and chocolate bingo - evening events for the grown-ups: psychic medium evenings, murder mystery events and casino nights.

**A fun and welcome opening event for the Somersham Festive Season**

Welcome to the seasonal St. Mary’s Church fundraising ‘Christmas Bazaar’ - this event is held at our Village Hall in Somersham - Saturday 21st November 2026
Stalls will feature local crafts, seasonal gifts and cards…..and plenty of homemade refreshments - warming hot drinks, tasty snacks and sweet treats!

Our Toy Service is at 10am on Sunday 22nd November - this is when we ask for any new, unwrapped gifts suitable for children & Mums to be brought to the service. 
These are then donated to the ‘Lighthouse’ charity - to make Christmas a little easier for those who find themselves in difficult situations.
An annual event, and warmhearted welcome to the Somersham Festive Season.

IMPORTANT UPDATE - the timings for the mobile library stop in Somersham are changing slightly.
The stop at the Community Shop (16B) will run from 9.30-10.00am and the Willisham stop (16C) will be from 10.10-11.00am as it’s now busier there, more time is required at the Willisham stop.
These new timings will start from THURSDAY 29^th October 2026.
NB: there will be NO Mobile Library for our route run during December 2026. 
:: Somersham has a regular four-weekly Mobile Library visit on a Thursday - stopping in the car park next to the Community Shop. You can reserve books from any other library in Suffolk and then collect them when the mobile visits - and return your books to any branch / mobile library across the county. You may also suggest possible new titles, and make reservations online or library staff can help. It’s free and easy to get a library user card - you can get a card at the Mobile Library! There’s also a HOME LIBRARY service.
TODDLERS AND CHILDREN
This is a great occasion for toddlers and children, lots of books to choose from - and as the Mobile Library is in the village for 30 minutes, they can settle down and have a reading adventure!

Meets at the Duke of Marlborough, Somersham SUFFOLK at 7:30pm, every 4th Thursday of the month. Books bring people together. FESTIVE SPECIAL | WITH NIBBLES, come along and join us!! ** An added extra for the SOMERSHAM FESTIVE SEASON! ** Welcome to our acoustic nights - last Sunday night of each month!! Bring your favourite instrument and join in. Performed in and around the table, buskers format. All musicians and singers welcome.
