  • Wonderful BBQ supplies !! | Community Shop, Somersham

    Wednesday 29th July 2026 9:00am

Shop rolled shoulder of lambWhether you’re planning a BBQ or Sunday Roast?….are looking for sausages, bacon, gammon or liver for breakfast?…..or simply looking to make a great stew or Bolognaise….?
The local meat in our Community Shop is raised at Oak House Farm, Sproughton; through traditional mixed farming - rare-breeds including Gloucestershire Old Spot and Large White pigs, and Red Poll and Shorthorn cattle, provide all of the beef and pork for our chillers and freezer.
Lamb and poultry are sourced from shepherds and farms in Suffolk.
:: Rare breeds that have been integral part of the British landscape for centuries - and raised to the highest standards of animal welfare.
:: Fed with animal feed that is made on the farm in Sproughton, predominantly from locally-grown ingredients.
:: Whilst Oak Tree Farm treat their stock with medicine when necessary, they do not use routine antibiotics.
:: Quality products that taste fantastic - prices are always competitive.
As well as traditional items, Special cuts can be ordered - such as Cowboy Steaks (1kg reach!!), and Rib-Eye and Sirloin beef steaks.
Also Rolled-Shoulder of Pork, or Rack of Pork Ribs.
And Leg, Rack or Shoulder of Lamb - and Barnsley chops! Plus when in season, we can supply Hogget for fabulous slow-cooking. Hogget is lamb that’s had two springs and summers (ie, it’s over a year old) on grass. An extra six months grazing on luscious spring and autumn pasture really makes a difference to the taste - it outshines lamb for flavour.
Whole free-range chicken and all the usual cuts are available - as well as Chicken Cushions and Spatchcock Chicken (this is particularly good for barbecues!).
Sausages, mince, bacon are always available - and liver, heart, and kidneys can be ordered. Gluten-free sausages can also be ordered.
We also sell fantastic local Tomatoes from the Suffolk Fresh greenhouses at Bramford , and fruit & veg, and super local ice-cream from Alder Tree - and wonderful cheeses from award-winning cheesemonger Hamish Johnston - plus a range of beer, lager and wine.
For CHRISTMAS you can order farm-reared free-range Chickens (large, up to 6kg) and locally-reared Turkeysplease note, these orders need to be made in the autumn.
