Acoustic Night at the Duke of Marlborough Welcome to our April acoustic nights!! Bring your favourite instrument and join in. Performed in and around the table, buskers format. All musicians and singers welcome. Very many talented people turn up, and enjoy a lovely atmosphere, like buskers’ evenings of old.
Lovely to see so many happy people enjoying themselves and the ambience of our lovely, dear community-owned pub!
There’s a warm welcome waiting for accordions, banjos, double basses, fiddles, guitars, harmonicas, percussion, ukuleles, and a plethora of other instruments - not to mention plenty of a cappella and other singing. Everyone, from beginners to experienced musicians and singers, is welcome! ……it’s amazing to think that there’s probably been music and singing in our village pub for over 500 years!

Duke Acoustic is a new "unplugged" buskers-style event on the last Sunday of each month - hosted by The Duke of Marlborough pub, in the heart of Somersham, Suffolk - people will be able to enjoy an 'unplugged, friendly and informal song-sharing evening'.

Claire Rees of The Duke says: "The musicians and singers go around the table taking turns to busk, but sometimes people also do join in while other people perform, so it makes for a lovely harmonising effect … play solo, join in - or just sit back and enjoy music in a way that has been gracing all our pubs for centuries …”

The third session will be held on Sunday 22 March 2026, at 7pm - and continue on the last Sunday of each month from then on.

We look forward to seeing  - and hearing! - you at Duke of Marlborough!!

Step inside and you’ll be met by a smiling welcome, oak beams, and cosy nooks warmed by inviting fireplaces. Surrounded by countryside walks - we are fully dog-friendly.
